Apartments and Retail Planned for Haight and Shrader Lot

Architect Michael Harris has submitted preliminary plans to the city for a four-story building to replace the parking lot behind Cha Cha Cha restaurant at 1801 Haight Street. The proposal includes 440 sq. ft. of retail space on the ground floor fronting Shrader St, with seven apartments totaling 5,860 sq. ft. on the three floors above. There would also be a roof deck for residents.

 The plan would not alter the existing Cha Cha Cha building in front, but it is unclear how the restaurant would handle deliveries and trash collection, for which it currently uses the parking lot site. The plan includes no on-site parking, but would provide storage for seven bicycles.
